Lauren Conrad knows a thing or two about beauty. The reality-star turned fashion designer is always on point when it comes to the latest hair crazes (remember her pink dip dyed locks?) and new make-up magic (she is, after all, the face of Mark cosmetics).
And we can’t help but notice that she always has the most glowing, healthy looking skin!
While we are sure her blissful engagement to her love of over two years, William Tell, might have something to do with her recent radiance, we just had to know the real secret behind her skincare routine. So we chatted with HydroPeptide National Account Trainer Jayna DiMartino and found out the key products behind Lauren’s lovely complexion.

1.Start off by applying Peel 1, gently rubbing in a circular motion for 1 to 2 minutes.
2. Leave on the skin and then apply one pump of Peel 2, which is the activator that gives you that nice, gentle chemical exfoliation with 5% lactic acid, vitamin C, botox-like peptides, plumping, volumizing and lifting peptides, with Echinacea and chamomile to soothe the skin.
3. Work this into the skin for another 1 to 2 minutes and then rinse.
“It can be used once or twice a week. Skin will be left looking brighter, feeling softer, more even-toned and supple. Perfect before a night on the town,” says Jayna.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Met Gala… in Kendall Jenner’s case, a hair catastrophe. Jenner has had quite an absurd few months in terms of her fashionable endeavors, from her couture modeling debut at Marc Jacobs to a once-in-a-lifetime walk at the Chanel supermarket. In addition, her questionable choices at Coachella landed her firmly on the fashion infamy list. The young member of the Kardashian clan posted a gorgeous Instagram selfie earlier this evening, depicting the model wearing a streamlined strapless gown and a lightly waved coif. It appeared the the world was in for a shockingly chic Kendall Jenner fashion moment. But somewhere between her hotel suite and the Met Gala red carpet, her hair went from fabulous to frightening. Though the hairstyle looked voluminous in Jenner’s selfie, by her Met Ball entrance, it looked windblown and messy in the worst possible way. What possibly could have created such a disastrous change? Here are our theories.
1. Dad Bruce decided that Kendall’s ‘do wasn’t quite right and attacked her hair with a brush as she ran out the door.
2. Kendall got into a tussle with Kim over her gown, as everyone knows Mrs. Kanye West must be the fairest of them all.
3. Anna Wintour discovered that Kendall had somehow procured an invitation to the event and ordered security to prevent her from entering.

4. As the little Kardashian clan member was exiting the limo, paparazzi clambering for a photo somehow tripped the bewildered reality star.

We may never know what happened to Kendall or why her hair looks so mussed, but we certainly hope she has a serious chat with her hairstylist after the Ball.
La Fressange brings Paris chic to Japanese label

Paris fashion has been on the back foot recently with Tom Ford championing British eccentricity in London and Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane leading a style renaissance in Los Angeles.
Cue ex-supermodel Ines de La Fressange with a collection restating the case for her own personal brand of classic Parisian chic.
The one-time muse of Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld whose book on how to dress like a real Parisian was a best-seller has just completed a collaboration with Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo that had shoppers queuing in the rain in Tokyo.
Belted shirt and wrap dresses, versatile shirts and narrow trousers accessorised with caps and spotted scarves for spring/summer 2014 were snapped up in minutes when they went on sale in the Japanese capital last month with some items already sold out online.
De La Fressange and Uniqlo creative director Naoki Takizawa said they knew each other only by reputation before they embarked on their collaboration but quickly discovered they shared very similar tastes.
Since taking the helm at Uniqlo in 2012, Takizawa, a protege and long-time collaborator of Japanese designer Issey Miyake, has overseen a transformation of the utilitarian brand with an injection of luxurious but simple fashion with mass appeal.
“It was fun because after ten minutes we were friends and wanted to work together,” said De La Fressange, 56, a firm enthusiast of mixing and matching high-fashion with low-cost basics, in an interview in Paris.
“We both came from the luxury and creative world and we wanted more or less the same kind of things. I had the impression that he was showing me the fabrics and things I wanted to have before I even said it,” she said.

They shared an admiration not just for Miyake but also other Japanese designers such Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo, which made working together “very easy”, she said.
De La Fressange famously set out her personal style philosophy in her 2010 book La Parisienne.
‘Everything is possible’
The daughter of a French aristocrat and Argentinian model, the 1980s Chanel couture model advised readers to mix styles, experiment with new labels and men’s clothing and invest in a good trenchcoat, blazer and little black dress.
Her “don’ts” included steering clear of bling, coordinating shoes and bags, and fur for anyone over 50 wanting to avoid the “wrinkled trophy wife” look.
Translated into at least 17 languages and with the English title Parisian Chic, the book has sold over a million copies worldwide.
Uniqlo global marketing chief Jorgen Andersson said De La Fressange, who is a brand ambassador for L’Oreal and recently returned to her eponymous label, was an inspiration for his brand’s customers.
“She has a great sense of taste. She has that magic that every woman wants,” he said.
“How do you put pieces together? Because that’s really what fashion is all about, not buying everything from one brand but picking up things and mixing it with what you already have in your wardrobe to create an appealing look.”
Little known outside Japan only a decade ago, the Uniqlo brand created by Tadashi Yanai, one of Japan’s richest men, has in recent years pursued an aggressive international expansion strategy.
As well as stores all over Asia, it now has outlets worldwide in cities such as New York, Paris, London and Moscow.
In another highly publicity-conscious collaboration this year, it has teamed up with US musician Pharrell Williams to produce a range of T-shirts and caps due to go on sale from mid-April.
De La Fressange and Takizawa, meanwhile, have also completed a second collection for autumn/winter 2014/15 and no one is ruling out a third.
“Everything is possible,” she said.

Actress Vidya Balan carried herself to perfection in this heavily decked up saree. The bright colour of the saree and the makeup she wore along with the look was perfect. In the recent past, Vidya Balan has stepped out into the limelight wearing a series of Westernised attires which caught a lot of negative attention.
However, when the actress adorns herself in a saree, she looks breathtaking. At the ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan, Vidya’s smile on her face was all the more beautiful as she received the Padma Shri award from President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. On receiving the Padma Shri award 2014, Vidya Balan said that she never imagined to receive such an honour, “With a film award, there is a nomination process, so you know there’s a possibility. At the ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan, the beautiful Vidya Balan looked amazing in a bright yellow saree. The saree which she wore for the ceremony to receive the Padma Shri was just about perfect. The border of the saree which had a touch of pink and bottle green caught our attention the most.
Her Makeup
Vidya is one actress in tinsel town who does not like heavy makeup. The actress applied a slight pink blush and cherry lips which made her look outstanding. The red bindi and the mark of marriage made her look just perfect.

The golden jhumkas which she wore along with the saree was a perfect choice. The entire set of her jewellery is from Jaipur Gems.

We loved the golden necklace wrapped around her neck. Though it was a bit too glitzy, it went well with her South Indian look.

The simple hairstyle she wore to the the ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan to receive her Padma Shri award 2014 was traditional. The bun hairstyle was wrapped up with fresh sweet smelling flowers adding to her Indian look.
Nail Art
The actress Vidya Balan applied a simple nail polish to her clean manicured nails. Opting for transparent nail polish was just the right pick.
Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan was the other South Indian actor who received the Padma Shri award 2014 along with Vidya Balan from the president, Pranab Mukherjee. The actor looked dapper in a black formal suit.

The most important awards in the UK film industry gathered together some of the biggest names in British cinema, along with plenty of Hollywood royalty, all dressed up to the nines.
The British Academy of Film and Arts gave away their top honors during the ceremony held at the Royal Opera House in London, on February 16, 2014.

Angelina Jolie
Attending the BAFTAs along with partner Brad Pitt (“12 Years A Slave”), Angelina Jolie made a splash on the red carpet with her Saint Laurent suit.

The Australian actress opted for a glamorous updo with a bun to complete her red carpet look.
Dame Helen Mirren
Honored with the BAFTA Fellowship Award at the ceremony, Dame Helen Mirren took the stage to claim her prize from Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, after a long tribute to her best acting moments. She also impressed on the red carpet, in a sparkling Jacques Azagury gown with embellished sheer sleeves and wore Asprey earrings along with her simple, but sleek hairstyle.
Uma Thurman
Proving that you can still make the best dressed at the BAFTA Awards 2014 list even without a stunning gown, Uma Thurman opted for simpler, but very elegant, Atelier Versace spring 2014 creation. The sleeveless and fitted black dress was perfectly flattering to her statuesque figure. Her gorgeous presence on the red carpet also included Chopard jewels and a sophisticated updo.
Amy Adams
Nominated for “American Hustle”, Amy Adams lost one of the top honors to Cate Blanchett but she was a definite winner on the red carpet. The American actress applied the “When in Rome…” principle and wore a custom Victoria Beckham gown in all black with a masculine collar. Amy Adams chose a sleek look for her hair, pinning it to the side in a bun for a truly elegant look.
Oprah Winfrey
Nominated as a Supporting Actress for her performance in “The Butler”, Oprah Winfrey managed to make the best dressed list at the BAFTA Awards 2014 in a gorgeous Stella McCartney creation. While the superb lace bodice was very flattering, it was the satin bow sash that really brought the outfit together and helped Oprah make a big impact at the ceremony.

French actress Olga Kurylenko rocked the red carpet in Burberry. Combining a black V-neck bodice over a bandeau top with a coppery and shiny red skirt, the former Bong girl managed to draw a lot of attention from the paparazzi. The figure-hugging dress was accessorized only with a simple bracelet, and the actress’ hair was styled with sexy waves, perfectly suited to the gown.
Gillian Anderson
Unlike most of her peers who chose to wear designs from new collections or custom made gowns, Gillian Anderson showed up on the red carpet in vintage 1949 Balmain. The color-blocked haute couture gown was accessorized with a diamond and blue gemstone necklace, while Anderson kept her hair and makeup simple.

The most controversial pick for the best dressed at the BAFTA Awards 2014 list, Lily Allen opted for an orange, coral and fuchsia Vivienne Westwood gown. Audrey Hepburn is named the UK’s ultimate timeless beauty

Her gamine looks, trademark fringe and strong eyebrows made her loved by men and admired by women, and now Audrey Hepburn has been voted the UK’s ultimate timeless beauty.
The star of classic Hollywood films Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday and Funny Face beat Kate Middleton and Holly Willoughby to the top spot in a survey by Pears soap.
In the nationwide poll, more than a quarter of women (26 per cent) chose Audrey for her perennial appeal, far ahead of edgier beauties Cara Delevingne (1.15 per cent) and Kate Moss (0.75 per cent).
With her elfin features and tall, slender body, Hepburn broke the mould when she took her first starring role in 1953’s Roman Holiday. The film’s director Billy Wilder remarked, “After so many drive-in waitresses becoming movie stars, there has been this real drought, when along came class.”
The Hollywood photographer Leo Fuchs, commented on her sophisticated European-inflected looks, “Audrey was a singular person, there ain’t many like her. ‘Beautiful woman’ is very difficult to explain but she certainly was beautiful. She was very enticing at all times.”
The star herself said: “Whenever I hear or read I’m beautiful, I simply don’t understand it … I’m certainly not beautiful in any conventional way. I didn’t make my career on beauty.”
And she’s reported to have said, “Make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside, but it doesn’t help if you’re ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up.”
Pears commissioned its Timeless Beauty report to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the classic, transparent soap.

In a poll of 2,000 British women, respondents were asked the traits they believed defined the notion of timeless beauty. Three quarters (75 per cent) named confidence, followed by 67 per cent who said happiness, while 58 per cent said having a sense of humour makes someone’s beauty timeless.
Audrey Hepburn’s fawn-like looks shot her to the top of the list, ahead of the Duchess of Cambridge who earned 16 per cent of the vote, and legendary Hollywood beauty Grace Kelly, who earned just 8.4 per cent of the vote.
This Morning co-presenter Holly Willoughby came in at number four (8.2 per cent) and Emma Thompson who possesses confidence, happiness and humour in spades, was voted fifth in the timeless beauty list.
Cosmetic surgery disqualifies someone from being a timeless beauty, according to the survey. For instance the likes of The Only Way Is Essex’s Lauren Pope and former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan failed to make the top 10 list, suggesting that natural looks are more appealing.
Interestingly, when it came to beauty routines, mothers had more influence on the women surveyed than celebrities. A fifth (20 per cent) cited their mums as their main beauty influence, and only four per cent said famous women or glossy billboard ads had an effect on their routines.
Many of us still swear by beauty tips passed on by our mothers and grandmothers and a third (31 per cent) say they still use tried-and-tested beauty tips from the older female members of their family such as taking a walk every day and using warm, then cold water to open pores.
No doubt delighted to hear that the nation’s women shun beauty fads for iconic products, Pears UK ambassador Naomi Isted said: “Beauty trends come and go but timeless beauty is all about taking care of yourself both inside and out.
“The list of timeless beauties reflects the values and ingredients British women told us they deem beautiful. Audrey Hepburn, the nation’s favourite, exuded confidence but also her long standing humanitarian work showed her to be kind – another top ingredient to being beautiful.
“Equally, we see Holly Willoughby, who came fourth in the poll, smiling every morning on daytime TV and we know that being happy is another top factor in appearing beautiful.”
